Manage your container apps

Updated 11 hours ago 12 views

Applications we host for you in their own container, such as Vaultwarden, are services of the Control Panel, like web hosting and domains: choose Control Panel in the client area menu, and your apps are listed under Container apps. Click one to open its page. You can also open it from the order itself: Services, the app's order, then Open Control Panel. See Your client area and the Control Panel.

What its page shows

At the top: the app's address (the subdomain you chose when ordering, as a full web address), its status, how long it has been running and the storage it uses and has available. Below are tiles:

Tile What it does
Status and controls the app's details, and Start, Pause and Reset (it opens by itself)
Backups the app's restore points, Back up now, the backup schedule and Restore: see Back up and restore a container app
Open the app the app's address in a new tab, while the app is running
Address and setup the address to copy, and how to start using the app; for NetBox, also its administrator's initial password, shown once (see NetBox network documentation)
Order and billing the order's page: renewal date, invoices, cancellation

Start, pause and reset

  • Pause stops the app; its data stays. Start runs it again.
  • Reset sets the app up again from scratch. This can take a few minutes and erases all of its data: export what you need first (for a password manager: export your vault). To confirm, you type the app's name. Use it only when the app is broken and nothing else helps, or after contacting us. An app with an initial password, such as NetBox, gets a new one, which you show once under Address and setup.
  • An app our staff stopped (for example during maintenance or after a problem) can only be started again by us: the page says so; contact us.
  • While an app is being restored from a backup it is offline, and it cannot be started, paused or reset until the restore is done; the page updates by itself.
  • While the service is suspended, for example because of an open invoice, the app is paused, and you can still look at the page, but not start, pause or reset the app. Once the service is active again, the app starts again by itself; an app you had paused yourself stays paused.

When an app was just ordered

Setting up an app takes a few minutes after the order is activated: the address is registered, an HTTPS certificate is issued and the app is started. Its page says when it is still being set up. If it still does not open after half an hour, contact us.

If an app does not respond

  1. Open its page in the Control Panel and check its status; if it is paused, press Start.
  2. Try again in a few minutes; apps can be restarted briefly during maintenance.
  3. Contact us with the app's address and what you see: Getting help from our support team.

Billing

Container apps renew like our other services: see Invoices and payments and Renewals, suspension and cancellation. While its service is suspended the app is paused, so it cannot be reached; its data is kept. When the invoice is paid the app starts again by itself, within a few minutes.
