Create and manage email accounts

Updated 10 hours ago 2 views

An email account (mailbox) is an address such as info@yourdomain.com with its own password and storage. Manage them in the Control Panel under Email accounts. Changes take effect immediately.

Create an account

  1. Open Email accounts and scroll to Create an email account.
  2. Enter the Address, the part before the @ (letters, digits, dots, hyphens and underscores), and optionally a Name that recipients see.
  3. Enter the password twice, or press Generate a password and note the generated one, then Create account.

The password must have at least 10 characters and three kinds of characters (lower-case letters, upper-case letters, digits, symbols), or be a passphrase of 16 or more characters. It must not contain the account name or the domain. Your plan sets how many accounts you can have; the panel shows how many are in use.

Then set up the account on your devices: Set up email on your phone or computer.

Change a password

Password next to the account. Devices that use the account ask for the new password at their next connection.

Forward an account's mail

Forwarding sends every incoming message on to up to 10 other addresses. Tick Keep a copy in this mailbox to keep the messages in the account as well; otherwise it only forwards. For an address that only forwards and has no mailbox, use a forwarder instead: Forwarders and catch-all addresses.

Disable or delete an account

  • Disable stops the account from receiving mail and from logging in, without deleting anything. Enable brings it back.
  • Delete removes the account: mail to it is refused from then on. Type the address to confirm. Stored messages are kept on the mail server for our staff to remove; contact us within a few days if you deleted an account by mistake.

Good to know

  • postmaster@ and abuse@ addresses of your domain are required by internet standards and cannot be removed.
  • Use a different password for every account, and never the password of your client area.
  • Logins to your accounts, and failed attempts, appear in the mail log.
