For your website and email to work at your domain, the domain's DNS must point to our servers. The DNS check tile in the Control Panel shows whether it does, and Deliverability checks the email records.
The best way: use our name servers
At the company where you registered the domain (your registrar), set the domain's name servers to:
pns101.cloudns.net
pns102.cloudns.net
pns103.cloudns.net
pns104.cloudns.net
Then contact us so we create the DNS zone for your domain with the right records. From then on you manage its records in the Control Panel (Manage your DNS records), and your domain follows our automatic failover between data centres.
Changing name servers can take up to a day or two to take effect everywhere.
If you keep your DNS elsewhere
You can keep your DNS at your registrar or another provider and set the records there:
| Name | Type | Value |
|---|---|---|
@ |
A | 173.72.255.2 |
www |
CNAME | yourdomain.com |
@ |
MX, priority 10 | maplegrovepartners.com (only if your email is with us) |
@ |
TXT | v=spf1 ip4:173.72.255.2 ip4:72.88.107.10 mx -all (only if your email is with us) |
Be aware: if one of our data centres fails, we cannot change records at another provider. Your website then stays unreachable until the data centre is back, while domains on our name servers move over within minutes. We recommend our name servers for this reason.
Checking
- DNS check: whether the website address points to us.
- Deliverability: the mail records (MX, SPF, DKIM, DMARC): see Improve email deliverability: SPF, DKIM and DMARC.
An HTTPS certificate can be issued once the website address points to us: HTTPS certificates (SSL/TLS).
